Why this place

Huangshi is a mining and steel city on the Yangtze in eastern Hubei, and just outside it is Daye's ancient copper mine — worked continuously for more than three thousand years, one of the longest-mined sites on earth.

• The Daye copper mine and the Bronze Age mining and smelting remains
• Huangshi National Mine Park, built over the old open pits
• The Yangtze riverfront and the Cihu area, where a very large lake sits inside the city
